Overall Job Objective

Hours: 15-17 hours per week
Monday – Friday 2:30pm-5:30pm
Salary: $13.00 per hour

|Essential Duties and Responsibilities:|
Under the direction of the Adaptive and Youth/Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, plan, supervise and lead daily activities for youth and teens. Duties include supervision of 1 part-time staff, planning and promotion of fitness and nutritional mobile outreach program, safe operation of program vehicle (Transit Van); developing positive supportive relationships with participants, parents and outreach site staff; preparing and distribution of program information. Program sites are apartment complexes, parks and afterschool programs.
|Education, Experience and Other Requirements:|
Must be at least 21 years of age; minimum 1 year supervisory experience; strong energized leadership, public speaking, organizational skills; possess a valid CPR and Standard First Aid Card by start date; and have experience in working with youth and teens. Applicants are subject to Washington State background check. Other requirements include three personal and/or work references. A valid Washington State driver's license with a clean driving record
1 year or more of experience working with children with in recreation, physical fitness trainer, nutritionist, teaching or day camp environment; knowledge of age appropriate athletic, social, and fitness activities, sport games and other large group activities for youth and teens; Ability to live by Kent Parks mission of "Dedicated to Enriching Lives" and demonstrate the following characteristics: responsible, respectful, honest, energetic, passionate, flexible, original, creative, dependable, thoughtful, outgoing with an ability to communicate with a variety of populations in a successful manner, showing patience, tact and a caring manner in individual, small or large group interactions.
