HERO Mobile Recreation Leader

Hours:           25-30 hours per week

                       Monday - Friday

                       10am-4:30pm

                       June 22 - August 12

Salary:           $16.00 per hour

Duties:

Under the direction of the Adaptive and Youth/Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, implement daily activities for children at various, parks, apartment sites and camps.  This free, drop-in, high energy mobile health, exercise, and nutrition program follows a weekly themed schedule.  The Mobile Recreation leader helps lead daily scheduled activities with the Program Coordinator in the areas of traditional and non-traditional sports, exercise, health etc.; supervise a large group of children; help prepare activities, maintain equipment, and inventory needs; adheres to program policies and guidelines; and perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age. 

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and with a large group of children

• Applicants must pass a position-relevant background check. 

• Other requirements include three personal and/or work references.

Preferred Qualifications:

One (1) year or more of experience working with children in recreation, teaching, outreach or day camp environment; knowledge of age appropriate athletic activities and training, crafts and other large group activities for children between 6-14 years old; Ability to live by Kent Parks mission of "Dedicated to Enriching Lives" and demonstrate the following characteristics: responsible, respectful, honest, energetic, passionate, flexible, original, creative, dependable, thoughtful.
