|Essential Duties and Responsibilities:|
Under the direction of an assigned Beach Manager, the Lifeguard assists in providing a safe environment for patrons of a specific recreational area; oversees public activities; safeguards patrons; maintains order; acts in the event of an emergency and administers first aid when necessary; works as part of a team with other lifeguards; participates in the in-service training program; maintains records as assigned; attends all beach staff meetings; maintains equipment and grounds; and performs other related duties as assigned.
|Education, Experience and Other Requirements:|
Must be able to demonstrate mature judgment and be in good physical condition. All lifeguards will be subject to mandatory pre-employment drug testing.
Applicants are subject to Washington State Patrol Criminal History background check.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk and hear. The incumbent is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
