Hours:      4.5 hours per week 
                  Fridays -5:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
                  Program runs from September 13, 2019 through June 6, 2020

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Youth and Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, Teen Recreation Leaders plan, organize and supervise a broad spectrum of recreational activities; planning, organizing and actively participating in activities such as sports, arts, crafts, games, life skills and special events with middle school youth; be a positive role model to youth and teens.

Education, Experience and Other Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Prefer some courses in education, music, recreation, or related field; have experience working with teens from a wide range of cultural and economic backgrounds. Must possess current CPR and First Aid cards, or have the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of job acceptance; and a valid Washington State driver's license.  Applicants are subject to Washington State Patrol criminal history background check.


Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year or more of experience working with teens in recreation, teaching or late night environment; knowledge of age appropriate athletic and social activities, crafts and other large group activities for teens between 12-15 years old; ability to live by Kent Parks mission of "Dedicated to Enriching Lives" and demonstrate the following characteristics: responsible, respectful, honest, energetic, passionate, flexible, original, creative, dependable, thoughtful.
