Hours:   35-40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; occasional evening or weekend shift may be required; program runs from July 1 through August 23, 2019

Salary:  $12.50 per hour

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Adaptive Recreation and Youth/Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, Youth Leaders plan, organize and lead daily activities for youth and teens. The Mobile Fitness and Nutrition Program is an outreach drop-in program where participant numbers will vary throughout the week. Activities include physical fitness and nutrition activities/education, games and sports at various outreach sites throughout the City of Kent, which can include apartment complexes, parks, day camps and special events.  Must be outgoing, energetic and respectful of cultural differences with the ability to communicate to a diverse audience with different learning styles.
 Education, Experience and Other Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

      Must be at least 16 years of age; possess a valid CPR and Standard First Aid Card by start date or have the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of job acceptance.

Preferred Qualifications:

One (1) year or more of experience working with youth and teens in recreation, fitness and nutrition or sports environments; knowledge of age-appropriate athletic, fitness activities, and other large group activities for ages 6-14 years old; ability to live by Kent Parks mission of "Dedicated to Enriching Lives" and demonstrate the following characteristics: responsible, respectful, honest, energetic, passionate, flexible, original, creative, dependable, thoughtful. Multilingual preferred.
