Mobile Recreation Leader
(1 Position)
Hours: 25-30 hours per week
Monday-Friday
10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
June 26-August 11
Interviews: Currently scheduling in-person interviews
Hourly Rate: $17.00-17.25 per hour
Duties: Under the direction of the Adaptive and Youth/Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, implement daily activities for children at various, parks, apartment sites and camps. This free, drop-in, high energy mobile health, exercise, and nutrition program follows a weekly themed schedule. The Mobile Recreation leader helps lead daily scheduled activities with the Program Coordinator in the areas of traditional and non-traditional sports, exercise, health etc.; supervise a large group of children; help prepare activities, maintain equipment, and inventory needs; adheres to program policies and guidelines; and perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and with a large group of children; Applicants are subject to a position relevant background check. Other requirements include three personal and/or work references.
Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year or more of experience working with children in recreation, teaching, outreach or day camp environment; knowledge of age appropriate athletic activities and training, crafts and other large group activities for children between 6-14 years old; Ability to live by Kent Parks mission of "Dedicated to Enriching Lives" and demonstrate the following characteristics: responsible, respectful, honest, energetic, passionate, flexible, original, creative, dependable, thoughtful.
