Summer Soccer Lead

(1 position)

Hours: 15-18 hours per week; Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m.                 

Program runs June 28 - August 11, 2023

(Staff training on June 26th)

Hourly Rate: $19.25 per hour

Duties: Under the direction of the Youth/Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, plan, lead and implement a drop-in soccer program held at West Fenwick Park. Duties include coordinating drop-in soccer games, leading and teaching basic to intermediate soccer skills, and offering other creative soccer activities for youth 6-18 years old. Supervision of one assistant soccer leader. Other responsibilities may include assisting at the West Fenwick Summer Playground Program, which includes events and activities for youth ages 4-14. Ideal candidate for this position must be able to actively engage with participants and recruit kids/families in the park to participate.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age.  Must be certified in CPR and Standard First Aid or have the ability to obtain prior to start date. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and with a large group of children. Applicants are subject to position-relevant background check. 

Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year or more of experience working with youth and teens in recreation, playing or coaching soccer; knowledge of age-appropriate athletic and social activities and other large group activities; ability to live by Kent Parks mission of "Dedicated to Enriching Lives" and demonstrate the following characteristics: responsible, respectful, honest, energetic, passionate, flexible, original, creative, dependable, thoughtful.
