Hours: 10 hours per weekMonday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.; Wednesday 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
Program runs from September 10, 2019 through May 29, 2020Salary: $14.50 per hour
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Youth and Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, After School Energy Supervisors organize and lead daily activities for children ages 6-12. The After School Program consists of approximately 20-40 participants and 2 youth leaders. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting in the development and implementation of the weekly activity schedule; leading daily activities; developing positive, supportive relationships with participants, parents and other department staff; preparing reports in support of assigned programs and assisting in the preparation of information/ promotional materials. Activities include homework assistance, arts and crafts, group games/ competitions, sports, and songs.
- Education, Experience and Other Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age; must possess a valid CPR and Standard First Aid Card by start date or have the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of job acceptance. Applicants are subject to Washington State Patrol criminal history background check.Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year or more of experience working with children in recreation, teaching or day camp environment; knowledge of age appropriate athletic and social activities, crafts and other large group activities for children between 6-12 years old; ability to live by Kent Parks mission of "Dedicated to Enriching Lives" and demonstrate the following characteristics: responsible, respectful, honest, energetic, passionate, flexible, original, creative, dependable, thoughtful.
Pay: up to $14.50/hour
