Hours:   40 hours per week; program runs from June 27, 2018 through August 17, 2018
Mandatory Training Dates:   June 22, 25 and 26
Mandatory Parent Night:   June 26
Salary:  $15.00-16.00 per hour, depending on experience

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Adaptive and Youth/Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, plan, supervise and lead daily activities for children ages 6-12.

Duties include supervision of 10 camp counselors, 8 teen counselors in training and 100 participants; assisting in the development and implementation of staff training; developing positive, supportive relationships with participants, parents and other department staff; preparing information/promotional materials; maintaining and performing related duties as required.
 Education, Experience and Other Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Must possess current CPR and First Aid cards, or have the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of job acceptance
  • Experience working with children ages 6 - 12 with and without disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year or more of experience working with children with and without disabilities in recreation, teaching or day camp environment
  • Knowledge of age appropriate athletic and social activities, crafts and other large group activities for children between 6-12 years old
