EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Indoor Playground Attendant, Temporary Part-Time
OPENS:  November 15, 2021

CLOSES: Until Filled 
HOURS: 2-3 days/week (Tuesday-Thursday), 2.5 hours/day, 9:00 AM-11:30 AM.

SALARY: $14.69 per hour depending on experience

Description: Under direct supervision of the Parks Program Coordinator, Indoor Playground Attendants are responsible for facilitating Indoor Playground program, an open play program for toddlers and preschoolers that is held Tuesday-Thursday at the Kent Commons.

Qualifications: The position requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team, a strong interest and knowledge of toddler/preschool interests and activities and customer service experience relevant to the job responsibilities, particularly with preschool youth and parents. 

Applicants must pass a position-relevant background check.

Example of Duties: Indoor Playground Attendant duties and skills include:

  • Set up and take down play equipment and gymnastics mats

  • Ensure that all participants sign in and pay the required admission fees

  • Monitor the program, participants and equipment for safety, cleanliness and conflict resolution

  • Interact with diverse populations of all ages in a friendly and supportive manner

  • Experience with cash handling in a safe and honest manner

  • Strong oral communication skills with an enthusiastic and friendly personality

  • Other duties as assigned

AGE REQUIREMENTS:  Must be 16 years of age.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear.  The incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a community center/indoor facility with a large volume of costumers, noisy environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
