There are four (4) positions available
Hours: Up to 10 hours per week
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Program runs from September 10, 2018 through May 31, 2019
|Essential Duties and Responsibilities:|
|Under the direction of the Youth and Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, Youth Leaders plan, organize and lead daily activities for elementary and middle school age students. After school programs consist of approximately 20-35 participants and 3 staff members. Ideal candidate would be knowledgeable in teaching sport skills, coaching teens in game play, and healthy cooking. Must work well with teens in a fast-paced environment.|
|Education, Experience and Other Requirements:|
Must be at least 17 years of age; possess a valid CPR and Standard First Aid Card by start date or have the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of job acceptance. Applicants are subject to Washington State background check.
One (1) year or more of experience working with children in recreation, teaching or day camp environment; knowledge of age appropriate athletic and social activities, crafts and other large group activities for youth ages 11-14 years old; ability to live by Kent Parks mission of "Dedicated to Enriching Lives" and demonstrate the following characteristics: responsible, respectful, honest, energetic, passionate, flexible, original, creative, dependable, thoughtful.
